Cambria Currents is with Tina Dickason, a long-time resident who has organized against every Prop 218 rate increase in Cambria to date. Today we’ll discuss CCSD’s proposed 62.19% solid waste (garbage) rate increase. In April 2023 this increase would adjust down to 41.46%.

Many Cambrians believe that the increase is unnecessary and excessive. Our community has a chance to oppose the increase by filling out the protest form which can be downloaded through the link below https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JmvGINAv7CEpBAMgZ44srIPJvCCirwdO/view?usp=sharing

The form must be filled out by hand and turned in by September 15th to be counted. Drop-off points are listed on the form. Approximately 2,001 signatures are needed, so please let your voice be heard and help spread the word.  

For this particular increase, residents living on Santa Rosa and San Simeon Creek Roads will be affected as well and are able to submit protest forms to oppose it.

We encourage all concerned citizens to attend the public hearing on September 15th at 1:00 pm, at 1000 Main Street. There will be an opportunity for public comment on the issue.
